I dont know but there have been quite a few very large "mash up" conferences from companies as large as Microsoft for software developers who have been working on these mash ups or whatever you want to call them.

Best explanation? Web 2.0 is a marketing term. Web 3.0 is a marketing term. These things to not define innovation or inventions in technology, but rather, an increase in particular applications of existing technology.
