wow! I once admired Timbo...he sounds very, very stupid...as stupid as he looked with his spoiled ass son on "My Sweet 16"

No wonder he rips so many people off. He doesn't know the difference between stealing and sampling. Sampling is listening to someone's beat, liking it and try to create something unique / similiar to it by being inspired by it. What Timbaland does is take the beat and add more bass make it more upbeat and heavier. That's outright stealing, doesn't even bother to flip any of his stuff. He is a pathetic excuse for a producer, and we should be ashamed for liking his stuff enough to youtube him

lmao that was the most uneducated response ive ever heard trying to explain the difference of sampling and stealing...

it is stealing.. it's not open source there is a (C) message on the version , he used it BEFORE gaining permission..you NEVER assume something is public domain unless it's explicitly granted. being inspired is ONE thing, we all are... ripping the guts out of others work, then making out it's your own is poor form. He has no respect for musicians, so therefore has no respect for music ... only money. I dislike how he blatantly tries to mislead people, the interviewer is as fake as him.

No its not the same. It would have been the same If you used the same script, used the same angles, added a new twist, changed the title and called it your own. (and that would have been wrong!) Its like painting a beard on Mona Lisa and signing it with your own name. That is fraud, that is stealing. What Timbaland did, is sure as hell not "sampling".

Wow. Timbaland is a jackass. I would never wish to meet him, because I'd probably fuck him up; not because of him stealing that person's song, but Timbaland from what I've seen in videos is just an asshole...

What's up people, check out my song, I promise you won't be disappointed. It is fiyah! Take a chance on me and check ya boi out. All I ask is that you subscribe me if you like it. If not, tell me to kick rocks. Thanks, peace.

So technically, if I'd make, say, a video game talking about humans invading reptilian-like aliens, and somebody already did that and I inspired myself from their game, I'd be stealing their stuff without any right to...? That's f***ing retarded. Many action movies have car chases and similiar scenes, they're not stealing from eachother. They didn't steal the movie's plot. This is exactly the same. Plus, it was considered exactly like any open-source software...This is NOT stealing.

why many of you don't get he USED ("sampled?") all the song ARRANGED by Glenn Rune Galefoss, originally COMPOSED by Janne Suni (and that's alreaqdy proven it's his own work) and he told it was composed by himself, the Timbaland himself... then he told it's from a videogame he doesn't rember which - actuially he used SIDSTATION, and it's not about "sampling" or "crappy sound" - that's legal issue, btw taking entire song is not sampling too, you great so called 'producers'. Raf/Vulture/HVSC

RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE wh o cares if something doesn't say public domain or not? you should ALWAYS ask, no matter how "good" you think you are. timbaland's defense is pathetic.

that doesnt mean its not a copty violation. he clearly took it w/out giving credit

he sed he took it but he didn't say he stole it!! listen he sed that if the people he sampled hav sample issues they can take it up with him.....He is not claiming it's his and that is not stealin!

Acid Jazzed Evening is NOT from a videogame.

Timbaland just admitted taking the music right here on this interview... How much more firsthand do you want to get???

So what you're saying is, if I hear a song on the radio... and I don't know who the artist is... then I have the legal right to sample it? What you're saying is any music on the internet is up for grabs if you don't see the credits? Where are you getting this information?

I am an Audio engineering student at SAE Liverpool. We also study copy right laws.TIMBA,Ive compared the beats in question(SYDNEY),IF THE FIRST 8 BARS SOUND IDENTICAL They simply dont. Your beat is an octave lower, its slower, and more importantly it has different percussive samples. And not to mention the Didgeridoo sound can easily be sampled from Logic 8 instrument library and edited to suit using Pro tools time stretch function and beat detective.I REST MY CASE.

dayum....the whole album? yikes man. lol

So just because they have gone to court does not mean he stole anything. I urge those who post and make blanket statements without doing your research first to stop and think of our display of ingorance . Would you want someone making statements based of what they heard about you, or from a first hand account? Put your self in his shoes, he is an easy target you would be to . I am jsut saying, know your facts first and basic legal gargin, it is easily found on the web .

until he the court proceedings have been posted , no one can say He stole anything , because , the law also says that if you, being the producer , can not find credits for the work and or public domain information , then you can still use it just when the music is released and someone makes a legal claim to be paid you have to pay them but , you have the legal right and obligation to legitimize that claim , beofore paying out. That is why you have court proceedings and such .

So , to elaberate on the not I just posted below I am going to clear up this whole thing . The law states , there is no legal amount that is defined by law mind you, that says how much can or can not be used in a sample. It is the sole descretion of the sampler and the samplie , to decide what will be legally allowed . Also anyone who says timabaland is a theif should also know, he states in the recording above, there are legal proceedings in progress for this matter. Continued in next comment

to those who have written about this topic timbaland is in the right In Bridgeport Music, Inc. et. al. vs. Dimension Films et. al., the Court found that the use of 3 notes, lasting 2 seconds, from a sound recording called Get Off Your Ass and Jam (Get Off in the opinion) in the track called 100 Miles and Runnin (100 Miles in the opinion) contained in the sound track of a motion picture called I Got the Hook Up (Hook Up in the opinion) was not fair use. In the words of the Court:

Shit on listening to it, he's bloody right :( He is very arrogant what he does and he flaunts it too. Personally the best way to describe him is the Bill Gates of the music world, he knows all the legal stuff to come out on top of the game. He's right about the public domain stuff too, even if it says it's made by a certain someone, it's not nessiceraly copyrighted. All i can say is in this day and age, "protect your intellectual property"

Shut up mumbling fatty, he can't even talk straight. I'd find more from him making a humming sound and jiggling his cheeks so it sounds like the first minute of this interview.

Did you hear the talk show guy laughing and kissing ass like a sheep

timberland go in a diet, fatty cheater
