Very few (if any) c64 musicians nowadays code their music using assembly. There are a bunch of trackers (like protracker) and the track in question was also composed using one.

I have not produced music on the C64 either ( yes, its Commodore 64 :) but i have friends that do ( mostly made tracks on the Amiga myself ) so yes it IS difficult! I Agree with everything you just said,i know full and well how difficult composing music is because I compose music myself and i do NOT sample. Even in my previous comment i said that sampling makes the production task EASIER. And no i havent used a C64 (Commodore 64?) but i have produced on an ensoniq eps and found that difficult. so i cant imagine 8 bit 3 track! dont come at me like im stupid please. re-read my original comment if you have to.

Its funny how people who never used a C64 to make music cant understand how difficult it can be when you are limited to 3 channels of 8 bit sound with the additional requirement to learn Assembly Language programming to produce that music. Now lets compare arranging a song through Assembly and just simply mixing samples!? Sampling is one of the easiest methods of making music and far from complex in comparison.

Timbalnd didn't producer 500+ hits, that's a blatant lie. He might have produced up to 500 songs, but only a small percentage are hits. He's not the only one to have produced so many songs, the neptunes have also been producing since 1994 and they've done over 500 songs, many of which became hits in the mid-2000s
