As odd as this may sound, Bush was the lesser of two evils in the '04 election. John Kerry was a somewhat of a fringe candidate who no one expected to do as well as he did. The Dems spent most of '02 - '04 Bush-bashing(not that it wasn't deserved) instead of building up their own party and offering a better candidate. It won't be easy, but I think Obama will set things in motion to get the U.S. turned around, and subsequently restore good faith with the rest of the world.
