Interesting comment. Phil put as opposite to precise. Hm, turn away from the screen and you will not tell that there are two people drumming - ultimate precision on behalf of both. Phil is desperate? For what? He looks rather relaxed, enjoying the moment.

Personally, I put Phil above everyone else because: 1. He doesn't make the beat, but he plays music with his drums. His patterns are simply hypnotic 2. His technique at par with the best of the best, but he doesn't get stuck in endless and brainless speed exercises 3. Chester Thompson duo that he came up with is one of the most impressive drumming stuff around without going overboard 4. And he is The musician with a whole slew of remarkable songs (Cozy Power is probably another one)
