The last time I saw Brian perform was in 1994 at Butlins in Ayr... He even came into the dining room the next morning to have breakfast with his family and crew! He gave everything that night as he always did, such a sad sad loss, will be missed by so many.
I heard he died on the tv as I was in hospital sitting by my daughters bed when I nearly lost her too.... RIP Bri xx
Hell yes & AMEN!
You Are Missed.
Guitargirl is right on the money, alcoholism, the several heart attacks he had in one day which he never recovered and then the liver failure took its toll on Brian, but he never quit fighting. We will miss you Brian and Mick.RIP
Sad that Brian is dead. I didnt like the song this time. But we cant help that he sort of lost his touch over the years. And P.S. It wasnt drugs that did him in...it was heart attacks and liver failure from severe alcoholism...i should know...i looked it up. =P
I was right at the front at this gig at Pontins at Caister, it was a great weekend-I even spotted my head bobbing up and down!
Thre rocked hard and partied even harder Brian unfortunately harder than the rest. Great guys and a great band sadly missed by all 70s rockers RIP Brian and Mick
I was at this 70s weekend and saw this performance, Brian's BC Sweet band at the time which included Gary & Dave Farmer were a 80s rock version of Sweet but at the time they were excellent, Brian's voice at the time was pretty good, in the years to come I saw this lineup most times they were in the South and I have to say Brian did deteriorate with each year, in the end having to be helped on stage, such a shame as he was such a charismatic lead singer. Sadly no longer with us.
Yes, It sad to see Brian like this, no the same smile and energy like in 70x. Really dead mummy here. RIP Brian
Wow... Is that Brian in '91? :O
R.I.P. :(
This sounds like utter crap. This version of the band is horrid. Brian isn't all there; he's out of time and sounds totally washed out. It was a shame to see his sad demise but will always be remembered as a rocker. Too bad the drugs did him in.
Thanks GlitterJet you are a star. It is so fab too so many great glam memories. That Hemsby weekender was
so glamtastic. I even stuck all my favourite albums on the chalet windows.
Hi, yes it is me :-)
Yes it was a brilliant weekend, they don't have 70s weekends like this anymore, i will add a few more various tracks when i find time, see you at a gig some time soon.
GlitterJet,
Ae you the GlitterBand man? I was there at this weekend and you remembered me from then when we met at The Underworld.
thanks for all the glam you have put on here. I have only just signed on today but Barry Blue and kenny as well fab stuff!
This was one of the best weekends of my life and Brians Sweet were certainly the highlight.
I saw them play at a 70's weekender at Butlins in 92/93 i think it was,he was like that there, really sad, didn't complete the set, had to be helped off.His voice was still good though.
A great video, R.I.P Brian.
All I know is that Channel 4 (UK cahnnel if you're overseas)broadcast the doc. you refer to.
Does anyone have that documentary they made just before he died? Where they had to help him onstage and he had to be propped up with the mic stand? Man, that was harrowing to watch. But great documentary!
dead within 6 years mummy
Thank you so much for contributing to keeping Brian 'alive' for us. He looks pretty good here. Anymore if you have it would certainly be appreciated. RIP Brian...'time is no healer if you're not there'. |
